Roast beef is a simple and very easy recipe to make. The main thing you will need is a good meat piece along with some easy to get herbs. The best part is making the roast beef at your home. It will be more flavorful and tender than most store-bought ones.
However, to make good juicy roast beef, there are some important things that you should know before preparing the classic dish-
1. Right Cut For Roast Beef

There are various cuts to make this delicacy. Those are-
– Top round roast
– Round roast eye
– Top sirloin roast
– Bottom round roast
When you are unsure about the cut, simply ask a butcher. As the meat will be roasted slowly for a longer period, no matter how tough the meat is, it will become succulent.
2. Seasoning
With seasoning, you can be creative. Unlike in this recipe, you can add or remove some of the seasonings. Do what you feel right. Experiment with the flavors. This big meat cut will taste even better with more compatible flavors. Here I kept the recipe simple but you can play with that. Mix your favorite ingredients for seasoning with olive oil paste before applying it evenly over the meat.
3. Temperature Of Oven To Roast Beef
Wondering why need to change oven temperature after 15 minutes of cooking starts? The reason will answer your question. The roasted meats will develop a golden crust from all sides when put in a heated skillet. But when you have a top round roast, the searing is impossible to do.
But, if you start with a perfectly hot oven, then the meat gets a beautiful golden crust and you don’t have to bring the pan out from the oven. You get a head start with the crust and now lowering the temperature will ensure the cooking of the meat from inside.
4. Temperature Of Beef Meat
To make the meat succulent and flavourful, you have to keep track of the meat temperature at the center of the meat. If you want a light pink center, the temperature will be different than no pink center. All of it will depend on what you want, and you have to regulate the desired temperature. If you want a medium-rare, then internal temperature must be 130°F.
5. Slicing Roast Beef
Don’t slice into the roast as soon as it comes out of the oven. Put the meat on a cutting board. Keep it like that for 30 minutes allowing the juice to spread over the muscle. You surely don’t want to waste all the juices cutting immediately after it comes out of the oven.
