Recipe 1


1 onion chopped

4 minced garlic cloves

2 pounds ground beef or ground Italian sausage

1 can crushed tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

1 can tomato paste

1 ½ tsp dried basil

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp fennel seeds

1 bay leaf

Salt and ground black pepper


Take a large pan and add sausage, beef, onions and cook until all are browned. It should take 5 minutes on medium-high flame. Drain if you want.

Add the garlic and cook until you get a fresh aroma.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, basil, salt, Italian seasoning, fennel seeds and bay leaf.

Cover and cook for 30 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally.

Add pepper and mix well.

2 tablespoons 

olive oil 8 ounces

ground beef 8 ounces

ground pork 8 ounces

ground veal 1 

3 large yellow onion

4 garlic cloves minced

dried basil

Salt and pepper

(to taste)

½ cup red wine

2 cans crushed tomatoes

1 can tomato puree


Heat olive oil in a large pan and add ground beef, veal and pork into the oil. Cook and keep stirring until the meat is browned.

Add onion, garlic and stir.

Add basil, salt and pepper.

Add the red wine and let simmer for some time

Lastly, reduce the flame and add crushed tomatoes and tomato puree. Keep stirring and then reduce the heat and keep simmering for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

This type of slow cooked meat sauce has a delicious texture and flavor.

3 pounds ground beef

2 pounds sausage

2 yellow onions, chopped

3 tbsp olive oil

6 minced garlic cloves

2 green bell peppers, chopped

1 cup white wine

2 cans crushed tomatoes

1 can marinara sauce

1 can tomato paste

2 tbsp sugar

2 tsp salt

1 tsp ground oregano

1 tsp ground thyme

¼ tsp red pepper

4 bay leaves

¼ cup fresh parsley

1 whole rind from parmesan cheese

½ cup grated parmesan


Take a large pan and brown the ground beef, sausage in some olive oil and keep aside

Again add some olive oil to the same pan and add onions and bell peppers. Stir and then add garlic.

Add the wine and reduce the flame to reduce the wine.

Add the crushed tomatoes, marinara sauce and tomato paste.

Stir to mix well and then add all the seasonings.

Stir and keep mixing for an hour and then add the parsley and the Parmesan rind. Also add the grated parmesan and combine well.

Remove the bay leaves before serving.
