Meat is a good source of protein. It is the flesh of animals that are prepared by humans in many ways. It has many vitamins and minerals as well. It provides nutrients like iodine, zinc, and iron. It has vitamins like Vitamin B12. It also consists of essential fatty acids. A slice of meat can be cooked, grilled, or deep-fried as well. The grilling of meat is brought out the rich flavor of the meat. It is generally seen in barbeque recipe dishes. The common three types of meat are red meat, white meat, and seafood meat. Different meat has different grilling times. Other than that, it also has different cooking temperatures and cooking ways.

Grilling Times for Meat – Grilling Time For Beef

Beef is red meat. The grilling of beef should be done in direct heat. For grilling ½-1-inch-thick steak, grilling should be done for 4-6 minutes on each side. For grilling 1- 1 ½ inch thick steak, grilling should be done for 4-5 minutes per side and then cooked in indirect heat for 4-10 minutes.

Chicken is a type of poultry meat. Cooking time for a chicken breast is usually 12-15 minutes. Grilling chicken with bone-in takes longer, approximately 25 minutes. One needs to keep turning chicken pieces from time to time to ensure it does not burn or get overcooked. It is advised to grill the chicken on medium heat. Grilling chicken legs take 30-40 minutes by turning it every 15 minutes. Put it in the direct heat for the last 10 minutes. Chicken wings can be grilled for 20-25 minutes. One needs to leave it in the grill with a closed lid for 3-4 minutes. 

Grilling Times for Meat – Grilling Time For Fish

Fish is a type of seafood meat. For grilling fish, one needs to preheat the grill on high. Depending upon the recipe, fish can be grilled in medium or high heat. For grilling a fish with the skin on, grill per inch of fish for 8-10 minutes on each side. 3-5 minutes should be taken to let the grilled fish relax to allow more sauces to seep in it. Grilling a fish with its skin off also takes 8-10 minutes and a relaxing time of 3-4 minutes. 

Picking the Right Meat

As it is cited that a person would have to eat 5% of their body weight of chlorine-washed chicken in a single day to get exposed to the harmful levels of chlorate. The carcasses can be sprayed rather than dipped or immersed that would limit the amount of exposure to the chemical residue. Moreover, the people of the UK have set a particular level for their husbandry standards. So, the imported meat should at least abide by those standards in general.
